At the end of the commune cemetery in the town of Bentstreek, on the left side, there is a multinational war graves burial site that holds the graves of 29 foreign persons. The central part is marked by a cross that has gravestones on both sides bearing the first and last names as well as the dates of birth and death of the deceased. In several cases, however, the credibility of these inscriptions was undermined during the 1990s research conducted into the cemetery. Unfortunately, there is no information about the countries of origin of the deceased.
The available archival documents and materials confirm the fact that two soldiers from the 1st Polish Armoured Division are buried here. Nowadays, only one of these graves exists - that of Corporal Jan Fazan, born in Poraj (the district of Zawiercie). Most probably, Corporal Marian Działkowski, born in Kłobuck (the district of Częstochowa), soldier of the 1st Polish Anti-Tank Artillery Regiment, dead on 14 May 1945, is also interred here. His grave either no longer exists or has not been marked by a gravestone. It can be assumed, though, that Corporal Marian Działkowski’s grave can be found in the space between the grave of Corporal Jan Fazan and the next grave in the same row.
