Friedhof Meerbeck

Cemetery description

In the cemetery located in the Meerbeck district of the city of Moers, there is a grave-site for victims of various nationalities of World War I and World War II and of National Socialistic unlawfulness. Among these, 6 persons of Russian origin from the time of World War I as well as 146 victims of World War II from Poland, the USSR and Germany are buried here. The site can be found in the left upper corner of the cemetery, right next to the wall, and is marked on the cemetery plan as Section (Field) No. 10. The bronze memorial plaque placed on the memorial stone presents the history and some personal information about the deceased. The graves are marked by gravestones bearing the distorted personal data of the victims.
