Katholischer Friedhof

Cemetery description

The Catholic Cemetery in Monheim am Rhein, at the entrance on the side of Friedhofs Street, houses two burial sites for forced labourers. To the left of the entrance, there is a collective grave for World War II forced labourers from the USSR and Poland. The names of the victims are inscribed upon the gravestone marked with an Orthodox cross and upon the metal plaques attached to the granite stele.
Nearby, on the same level and on the left side of the main alley, there is the grave of 3 Polish citizens, an unknown soldier and, most probably, several German war victims. The names of the Polish victims are inscribed upon the gravestones while the remaining names can be found on stone crosses.
