The cemetery that is located around St Martin’s Church in Oberteuringen holds 7 graves. These are those of Polish forced labourers who either died during World War II or soon afterwards. The graves can be found right next to the entrance on the side of St Martin’s Square and the Town Hall. The marble and sandstone headstones with the victims’ names inscribed upon them are quite impressive (unlike in the case of typical graves of Polish war victims), and were sponsored by friends of the deceased. Their state of preservation is good. The headstones bear Polish texts that describe the circumstances in which the deceased died.
According to the archival lists, there also used to be 2 graves of Polish children but they have not survived.
