Südfriedhof

Cemetery description

The Südfriedhof cemetery in Düsseldorf contains two war grave sites, the final resting places for 1,180 World War II victims. The larger site, No. 20, located to the right of the main alley running from the main entrance, houses graves of seven Polish citizens killed in World War II. The burial site is quite extensive, and the names of the dead victims can be found on concrete ground level grave markers sitting flush with the lawn. The memorials and the markers have been preserved in a very good state (data from September 2020).
