Evangelischer Friedhof Idafehn-Nord

Cemetery description

The Evangelical Parish Church Cemetery in Idafehn-Nord houses 3 graves of soldiers of General Maczek’s 1st Armoured Division who died on 26 April 1945. The graves are marked by stone crosses with the victims’ first and last names, the dates of birth and death, the name of the military unit and the ‘General Maczek’s Division’ emblem inscribed upon them. Two of them form a separate framed grave marked by a memorial plaque that bears the information, in Polish and German, that 3 soldiers from the 1st Polish Armoured Division are buried here. The section borders at the back with the third grave. All the gravestones are the same in form
