Retterode Friedhof

Cemetery description

The cemetery in Retterode - a district in the city of Hessisch Lichtenau - holds the graves of 9 victims of World War II - 8 Polish citizens and 1 Soviet. The burial site is located in the central part of the cemetery and is marked by three stone crosses. Unfortunately, the inscriptions are moss-covered, which makes it difficult to decipher the victims’ names. The site is also marked by a metal plaque on a stone plinth stating that victims of World War II rest here. This plaque contains the personal data of the deceased.
